HZS60 vs HZS90 vs HZS120 vs HZS180: Which Batching Plant Should You Pick?

So you need a concrete batching plant. You've seen the model numbers—HZS60, HZS90, HZS120, HZS180—and you're wondering what the real difference is beyond the number.

The number is the theoretical capacity in cubic meters per hour. But that's not the whole story. Each model has a different mixer, different power requirements, different footprint, and different price point. Pick the wrong one and you're either overpaying for capacity you don't need or running a plant that can't keep up with your pour schedule.

I've been manufacturing these plants for 15 years. Here's how I break it down for customers.

HZS60 — The Entry-Level Workhorse

The HZS60 is our most popular model for small to medium businesses. It's compact—fits in a standard industrial lot—and doesn't need a massive power supply. Total power draw is around 110 kW, which means you can run it on most 3-phase industrial connections without upgrading your transformer.

The JS1000 mixer handles 1 cubic meter per batch, with a cycle time of about 60 seconds. That works out to roughly 60 m³/hour in theory, but in practice you'll get 45–50 m³/h consistently. Good enough for small commercial projects, precast yards, and local ready-mix suppliers.

Who buys it: Contractors starting their first concrete business. Small precast operations. Companies that need a plant for a single project and might move it afterward.

What to watch for: Don't expect to supply a highway project with an HZS60. You'll run it flat out and still fall behind. For anything above 30,000 m³ total, jump to the HZS90 or HZS120.

HZS90 — The Sweet Spot

The HZS90 is where you start seeing serious output. The JS1500 mixer gives you 1.5 m³ per batch, and the faster cycle time means you can push 70–75 m³/hour in real-world conditions.

Most of our customers who start with an HZS90 tell us it was the right call. It's not as expensive as the 120, but it has enough capacity to handle medium-sized commercial jobs—apartment complexes, school buildings, road repairs—without breaking a sweat.

Power requirement is about 150 kW. You'll need a dedicated transformer for this, but it's nothing unusual for an industrial site.

Who buys it: Ready-mix companies serving a city or region. Construction firms with steady medium-scale work. Companies that outgrew their HZS60.

HZS120 — For Serious Production

This is our top seller for a reason. The HZS120 with a JS2000 mixer hits 2 m³/batch and cycles fast enough to deliver 100–110 m³/hour consistently. It's the standard plant for highway projects, bridge construction, and large commercial developments.

The twin-shaft mixer gives better mixing quality than the single-shaft mixers on the smaller models. You get more homogeneous concrete with less variation between batches—important when you're pouring structural elements that need to meet spec.

Power draw is around 180 kW. You'll want a proper electrical setup for this one.

Who buys it: Medium to large construction companies. Contractors working on infrastructure projects. Companies supplying multiple job sites at once.

What to watch for: The HZS120 needs more space. The aggregate bins, conveyor, and silo layout requires a longer site. Make sure your lot can accommodate it before you order.

HZS180 — The Heavy Lifter

The HZS180 is for big operations. 180 m³/hour theoretical capacity, twin JS3000 mixers (2 x 37 kW each), total power draw around 250 kW. This is a serious piece of equipment.

We sell these mostly to large infrastructure projects—dams, ports, major highway networks. If you're supplying concrete for a project that runs for 3+ years at high volume, the HZS180 is the right tool.

The footprint is substantial. You're looking at roughly 50m x 30m for the plant plus material storage. And you'll need 250 kW of reliable power—most sites need a dedicated substation for this.

Who buys it: Large construction firms with multi-year projects. Government infrastructure contractors. Companies that need 150+ m³/hour consistently.
